The release is centred around title track Faded Love – taking a classic Temptations vocal and lovingly surrounding it with thick, smouldering beats, quivvering synths, a knee-weakening bassline and smouldering subs.
Also included are Beta Man and Reasons – all Killer and no filler here; each are just as strong as the title track – Beta Man with a gritty, dusty NYC street vibe and Reasons with it’s huge reverberating piano stabs. As if that wasn’t enough – Ben has crafted Faded City Soul – his translation of influences by Detroit luminaries, and a very heavy dub mix of Faded Love.
Ben has recently packed up and moved his studio and family to Australia (booking agents take note). Maybe his Geordie accent is fading, but I’m sure that’s all – his studio output positively shines…
